Located in Historic Deerfield, Hyde House is a newly renovated saltbox constructed almost 100 years ago with ancient posts, beams, floors and brick rescued from homes in Prescott, Mas- sachusetts, during the Quabin Reservoir project in the 1930s. The house was built by Herman S. Hyde and his wife Sally Burill Hyde. As you enter our front door, the warmth of its embrace welcomes you. While the educational, cultural, and historical offerings are the major attraction of this area, so is the beauty of the Pioneer Valley nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires. Wander down the lane and walk to the tree canopied “Street” to visit the museums, or to attend Deerfield Academy, Eaglebrook School, or The Bement School events and graduations. Visit Memorial Hall, home of the famous “door” preserved from the attack on Deerfield in 1704. Come to our Craft Fairs, go antiquing, or shop at the flagship store of Yankee Candle. Take in the vibrancy of Autumnal colors as you drive the Mohawk Trail for its panoramic views and quaint surrounding towns.
